Licella signs MOU with Air New Zealand to explore potential of Cat-HTR.
Licella today announced that it has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Air New Zealand in order to explore the potential of Licella’s Catalytic Hydrothermal Reactor (Cat-HTR ) technology to produce sustainable aviation biofuel in New Zealand.
Air New Zealand is seeking to reduce its dependence on conventional aviation fuel and as such is collaborating with a number of parties, including Licella, to explore research and development in the bio-derived sustainable fuels space.
“We are excited about signing the MOU with Licella to work more closely together to examine the potential commercialisation of their technology to produce sustainable biofuel in New Zealand,” says Air New Zealand CEO Norm Thompson.
Licella has developed a unique Cat-HTR system for converting ‘lignocellulosic’ biomass into high value synthetic crude oil ideally suited to the production of mainstream transport fuels.
