The Traditional Approach Uses Many Steps

The traditional approach to biomass processing is to use saccharification to produce alcohols such as ethanol and methanol. This involves a number of steps including cleaning, enzymatic breakdown (saccharification) and fermentation to create usable fuels.

Generally speaking the more steps, the more complicated the process, and the greater the cost.

Having won an Australian Federal Grant, our 2nd generation Commercialisation Demonstration Plant (CDP), has been opened by the Minister for Resources and Energy, Martin Ferguson AM MP, on the 14th December 2011.
